Youth Leaders Encountering God
“I eat, drink, and sleep 4D!”
Early in the year, our team in Egypt led a LeaderSource training for 80 youth leaders over one week. This training was a pivotal moment both for the youth leaders involved and for the Egypt team to come together in unity and grow. God provided volunteers and our team felt the movement and presence of God daily. As they have consistently followed up with the youth leaders, they have begun to see great fruit.
In Egypt, many youth are given leadership roles, so there is a vital need to receive training in how to be a healthy leader. At the training, the youth leaders spent much of their time in constant fasting and prayer, following up on concepts with review, and enjoying fellowship together.
“We were not just listeners through the training, but we participated in every aspect of it. All I can think about now is the power of the 4Ds to transform lives. I eat, drink, and sleep 4D!”
As a result of the training, many pastors have asked the Egypt team to come and share with their churches, and to do more trainings like it.
A group of youth leaders from northeast Egypt has experienced a depth of benefits in all aspects of life – from union with Christ to applying the four dynamics. The training was not just intellectual information but practical application to real life and ministry reality, and they are applying it now in their own leadership roles. Youth leaders are using personal designs to address issues of character in their own lives, developing holistic devotional lives, and applying the four dynamics in their children’s ministries.
Another group of youth leaders has applied our models in their summer programs, and in follow-up has focused on the centrality of Christ and the issue of abusive leadership.
One leader, Sister M, shared:
“Before I attended the LeaderSource training, I found that growing my relationship with Jesus Christ was a great challenge. It was difficult for me to keep Him central, especially with my life being as busy as it is. But after I completed the training, I went much deeper into wrestling in His presence. I took the time to encounter the true centrality of Christ in my life.”
Another leader, Sister N, shared:
“I felt like I suffered greatly under my ministry leader, but through this training I discovered that leadership is not just a positional responsibility, but also a healthy relationship. Therefore, I decided to start with myself, building a good model of a healthy leader. Over time I noticed a change in my understanding of his personality and acceptance of him, and consequently, our relationship improved.”
God is at work in the lives of youth leaders in Egypt!
