Theology in the Bible is never taught as an end in itself – that we would simply “understand” the doctrine accurately. Truth always has a transformational purpose. There are no exceptions to this in the Bible. Doctrines should never be treated theoretically; they must always be connected with life.
This tool gives examples of the specific transformational purposes of some core doctrines, along with biblical support for these connections. It is not designed to be exhaustive; its purpose is to guide you in how to think about doctrine in a transformational way. In the Bible, there are often numerous transformational connecting points with particular doctrines. These are a few of them.
