Dietrich Bonhoeffer said that “he who loves community destroys community; he who loves the brothers builds community.” What we need is not a commitment to an ideology or a vision, but a commitment to people. This is not just a commitment to people alone but a commitment to God, otherwise the church would just be a social club. True community is an expression of divine life that comes from redemption.
