God promised He would make a “new covenant” with His chosen people. The New Covenant is centered in the Person of Jesus Christ. It is the covenant in His blood. The new covenant extends beyond national or ethnic Israel, and it embraces all “those who are called, both Jews and Greeks” (1 Cor. 1:24, NKJV). The greatness of the new covenant is that the Gentiles are now included. Formerly, they were “alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise” (Eph. 2:12). But now the new covenant reaches out to include people from all races and nations.
